1851 look-

Above – NOT WETPLATE Photo-

top one is Photoshopped attempt at the look of an old time photo

I have been slightly obsessed with wet plate photography for some time now after seeing this video about Ian Ruhter.

I want to work slowly with my hands and produce something timeless with heart. I think wet plate is my answer. There is something intangible and magical about it.

This one photograph moved me so much it is  this mans work - Quinn Jacobson.  I want to meet him and take a workshop with him.  Julia Margaret Cameron,  she is incredibly inspiring because she started at age 48. I found Frank Lopez’s amazing work in my area and I am so thrilled to attend his workshop this Saturday. I cannot wait, oh and check out this fun site too.

The pics above are my sad Photoshop attempt to imitate the wet plate look. I know alien skin exposure 4  has a good wet plate look but it’s really not the same.  It’s really hard y’all to do in photoshop. I’m going to do the real thing.. bringin it back to 1851.
